Ultime tappe del Viaggissimo di Giulia Baroncini sulle tracce di Luigi Masetti, 130 anni. Le facce di oggi appartengono alla famiglia Lopiccolo, di Long Island.
«Siamo agli sgoccioli di questa avventura negli Stati Uniti. Sto passando questi ultimi giorni in totale relax! Sono stata ospite della famiglia Lopiccolo che sono amici di amici. Quando sono arrivata a NY li ho raggiunti a Long Island dove vivono, esplorando anche un po’ i dintorni di NY. Anche loro sono italoamericani, infatti il nonno era un prigioniero di guerra che si è poi stanziato qui. Sono molto orgogliosi delle loro origini e sono stati in Italia nel 2017 per incontrare la loro famiglia. Stanno già programmando quando tornare. Nonostante i loro impegni, mi hanno portata un po’ in giro e dopo tanto tempo sono anche riuscita a vedere l’oceano a Westhampton beach. Anche stavolta la bici mi ha fatto fare delle belle scoperte e mi sono sentita accolta e parte della famiglia».

Last stages of Giulia Baroncini’s Viaggissimo on the trail of Luigi Masetti, 130 years later. Today’s faces belong to the Lopiccolo family, from Long Island.
«I am at the end of this adventure in the United States. I’m spending these last few days in total relaxation! I’ve been a guest of the Lopiccolo family, who are friends of friends. When I arrived in New York, I joined them on Long Island, where they live, and also explored the surrounding areas of New York. They too are Italian-Americans; in fact, their grandfather was a prisoner of war who later settled here! They are very proud of their origins and visited Italy in 2017 to meet their family. They are already planning their next visit. Despite their busy schedules, they took me around a bit, and after a long time, I was able to see the ocean at Westhampton Beach. Once again, the bike allowed me to make some beautiful discoveries!I felt welcomed and like a part of the family».
